Viking Aronia (Aronia melanocarpa 'Viking') is a hardy, upright shrub cultivated for its high-antioxidant "superfruit" and ornamental value. Reaching 3–6 feet in height, it features white spring flowers, large purple-black berries in late summer, and vibrant red fall foliage. It is self-fertile, adaptable to various soils, and easy to grow.

Fruit: Produces large, edible, nutrient-dense berries known for a high content of anthocyanins and antioxidants. While tart to eat fresh, they are excellent for juices, jams, wines, and syrups.
Appearance: A deciduous, multi-stemmed shrub with glossy dark green leaves that turn brilliant red in the fall.
Habit: Grows about 6 feet high and 5 feet wide. It tends to produce suckers, making it effective for hedges, screens, and mass plantings.
Growth Requirements: Prefers full sun (best fruit production) but tolerates partial shade. It is extremely hardy (down to −40∘𝐹) and adapts to various soil types, including boggy conditions.
