Guacamole Hosta (Hosta 'Guacamole') is a popular, 2002 award-winning perennial known for its large, fragrant, pale lavender-white flowers and variegated, apple-green to chartreuse leaves with dark green margins. This fast-growing, sun-tolerant variety typically reaches 18–24 inches in height and spreads up to 50 inches wide.

Key Features and Care:

  • Appearance: Features wide, glossy, oval-shaped leaves with distinct, deepening colors from chartreuse-gold to green as the season progresses.
  • Light Requirements: Thrives in partial to full shade, though it has better sun tolerance than many other hostas.
  • Spacing: Should be planted about 36–40 inches apart to allow for its wide, mounding growth habit.
  • Soil and Water: Prefers moist, well-drained soil.
  • Maintenance: Easy to care for; requires minimal maintenance aside from removing dead leaves.
  • Pests: Susceptible to slugs and snails, which may require monitoring.

This versatile plant is ideal for shade gardens, borders, or as a groundcover to add color and texture to shady spots.
