Gaillardia (Blanketflower) is a hardy, drought-tolerant, sun-loving perennial (1–3 ft. tall) known for its vibrant red, orange, and yellow daisy-like blooms from spring to fall. Ideal for xeriscaping, these heat-resistant plants thrive in poor, well-drained soil, attract pollinators, and resist deer. They are perfect for borders or containers, requiring little maintenance beyond deadheading. 
Key Care & Growing Conditions
Light: Full sun (at least 6-8 hours daily).
Water: Low; only need water during extended droughts once established. Overwatering can cause root rot.
Soil: Well-drained, sandy, or poor soil is preferred.
Hardiness: Generally hardy, but often short-lived perennials (2–3 years).
