Creeping phlox (Phlox subulata or P. stolonifera) is maintenance, mat-forming perennial (Zones 3–9) that blankets gardens in vibrant pink, purple, or white flowers in early spring. Growing 4–6 inches tall, this sun-loving evergreen groundcover thrives in well-drained soil, perfect for rock gardens, slopes, and edging. It is deer-resistant and drought-tolerant once established.
