Hosta 'Francee' is a popular, low-maintenance, shade-loving perennial known for its heart-shaped, dark green leaves with crisp, narrow white margins. It forms a dense, cascading mound roughly 21–24 inches tall and up to 50 inches wide. It produces lavender flowers on 30-inch stalks in late summer, prefers moist, well-drained soil, and is hardy in Zones 3–9.

Key Features & Care:

  • Light: Thrives in full to partial shade; more sun-tolerant than many hostas.
  • Water: Prefers consistently moist, well-drained, acidic soil.
  • Growth Rate: Moderate to fast, making it an excellent choice for borders, containers, and groundcover.
  • Maintenance: Generally trouble-free; divide every 3–5 years.
  • Planting Distance: Space plants approximately 30–40 inches apart to allow for their 3–4 foot spread.
