The Weeping Candied Apple® Crabapple (Malus 'Weepcanzam') is a, small, deciduous, weeping ornamental tree growing 10–15 feet tall and wide. Known for bright pink spring flowers,, dark green foliage, and persistent, glossy red, cherry-sized fruit, it thrives in full sun and zones 4-8. It is highly tolerant of urban pollution and requires regular watering.

  • Appearance: This tree has a distinct weeping, spreading, and rounded habit, making it ideal for a specimen tree or for smaller landscapes.
  • Flowers and Fruit: It produces abundant pink flowers in the spring. The fruit is a glossy, bright red, resembling a candied apple, and typically persists on the branches into December.
  • Maintenance: It is considered a high-maintenance plant that may require regular pruning, ideally in late winter to maintain its shape.
  • Growing Conditions: It prefers full sun, average to moist conditions, and is adaptable to various soil types, including acidic or rich soil.
  • Urban Tolerance: The cultivar is highly tolerant of urban pollution and, once established, is quite robust.
  • Size: The tree usually matures at a height and spread of about 10–15 feet, sometimes reaching up to 20 feet.
